The Unfit Family

There was a dog

who could not catch a frog.

There was a cat

who could not wear a hat.

There was a mat

that wouldn’t lay flat.

There was a brick

that wouldn’t fit.

There was a dish

that would always be chipped.

There was a pair of jeans

that would always be ripped.

But they all lived together

because the needed the other's help forever.

And when they were together

their problems were better.

All they needed was a little time

to find their way out their mess.

Fit into their proper dress.

And for better or worse,

a different course

was able to find them.

So now the dog

can catch a frog.

The cat

can wear a hat.

The mat

lays flat.

At last, the brick

can fit.

And the dish

is no longer chipped.

The jeans are not ripped.

But they still all live together.
